Johannesburg, South Africa – The UAE national wheelchair basketball team qualified 3×3 to the quarter-finals of the World Championship currently being held in South Africa, topping Group A, after ending its campaign in the group stage by achieving 3 victories from 4 matches.

The UAE national team began its journey in the tournament by defeating its Croatian counterpart with a score of 14 – 8, and the Kenyan national team with a score of 19 – 8, before suffering its only loss against the Egyptian national team with a score of 11 – 12, then concluded the first round by defeating its British counterpart 16 – 10, to secure the top spot in Group A and ensure direct passage to the quarter-finals.

This direct qualification, without the need to play the round of 16 matches, gives the national team a technical and physical advantage before the decisive stage, as it awaits the winner of the match between Austria and one of the third-placed teams in Group Two.
