Cairo, Egypt – The Arab Republic of Egypt expressed its strong condemnation, in the strongest possible terms, of the Iranian military attacks that included missiles and drones and targeted the State of Kuwait, the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Cairo stressed that these attacks represent a blatant violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of those sister countries. It also considered that this escalation represents a serious threat to the security and stability of the entire region, and exposes the lives of its people to grave risks.
In an official statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday morning, Egypt expressed its full and unwavering solidarity with the targeted Arab states. It also affirmed its categorical rejection of any attempts or attacks that threaten their security and stability or violate their national sovereignty. The Ministry noted that Egypt has repeatedly warned against the dangers of expanding the conflict and renewing hostilities, and the resulting catastrophic repercussions for the security of sister nations. It added that the safety of international navigation could also be affected. The Ministry stressed that the continuation of this escalatory approach will only lead to a vicious cycle of destructive confrontations and instability, posing grave threats to regional and international peace and security.
In closing, the Arab Republic of Egypt reiterated its urgent call for an immediate cessation of all forms of military escalation and for the utmost restraint. It also affirmed its full commitment to the principles of international law and good neighborliness, respect for the sovereignty of states, and prioritizing dialogue and diplomatic solutions. It added that this is essential to spare the region further crises.
