Washington, DC – The United States continues to intensify its military pressure on Iran in the vicinity of the Strait of Hormuz. The US is pursuing an approach focused on targeting capabilities that Tehran is repairing or reactivating. These actions aim to prevent Iran from restoring its military and naval capabilities. According to reports, US operations are concentrated on sites and facilities related to coastal surveillance, radar, and air defenses. Additionally, missile capabilities, drones, and boats, which constitute a key component of Iran’s military infrastructure near the Strait, are also being targeted.

This approach reflects Washington’s desire to deny Tehran sufficient time to rebuild what has been destroyed. It moves to target facilities as soon as repairs or reactivation begin, thus maintaining a state of constant military pressure. This strategy is described in some reports as “mowing the lawn,” referring to carrying out repeated strikes to weaken Iranian capabilities and prevent their resurgence. This is done instead of waiting for reconstruction to be complete before engaging in a broader confrontation.

These developments are particularly significant due to the strategic location of the Strait of Hormuz and its vital role in global trade and energy supplies. Therefore, any military escalation around it is a matter of widespread international concern. With tensions between Washington and Tehran persisting, the potential for escalation remains, especially if Iran continues to rebuild its capabilities near the strait or decides to retaliate against US strikes with operations targeting US interests and forces in the region.
