Washington, DC – A senior US official told Fox News that the status of all US forces in the region is clear and completely secure following Tehran’s retaliatory attacks. He confirmed that the US successfully intercepted “most” of the missiles and drones launched by Iran that were headed toward Jordanian territory before reaching their targets. Regarding US bases, the senior official clarified that none of the US military bases in the Middle East sustained significant damage or losses. When asked who is ordering Iran’s ongoing attacks on commercial vessels, he indicated that the command and control structure within Iran appears to be decentralized. He also stated that it remains unclear who among the Revolutionary Guard commanders is alive and who has been killed amidst the rapidly unfolding events.
On the other hand, the public relations department of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that its forces launched a series of large-scale attacks on Wednesday morning targeting several vital US military bases in the region. These strikes were concentrated in Jordan, Bahrain, and Erbil in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Additionally, Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait was targeted. According to Iranian state media, the IRGC explained that the attack on Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait was carried out in a coordinated and intensive manner, employing a diverse arsenal of ballistic missiles and attack drones to achieve precisely defined military objectives. As of yet, there has been no official confirmation or detailed comment from the US Central Command regarding these attacks or the extent of the damage to its targeted facilities in the region.
