Seoul, South Korea – South Korean+ intelligence has revealed the possibility of a new meeting between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. It indicated that conditions could allow for a summit between the two sides at any time. Assessments presented to the South Korean parliament explained that direct communication between Washington and Pyongyang has not yet fully materialized. However, there are signs of diplomatic activity that could pave the way for a resumption of dialogue.
This comes as Trump expresses interest in reopening communication channels with Kim, attempting to revive the diplomatic track regarding North Korea’s nuclear program. Pyongyang, however, remains cautious in its response to US overtures. Meanwhile, tensions persist on the Korean Peninsula due to joint military exercises conducted by Washington with Seoul and Tokyo. Seoul believes the possibility of a new summit between Trump and Kim remains open. Nevertheless, no official date for such a meeting has yet been announced.
