Ramallah, Palestine – Palestinian presidential spokesperson Nabil Abu Rudeineh affirmed that achieving security and stability in the entire Middle East region remains contingent upon reaching a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue. He also stressed that ending the conflict requires the implementation of international resolutions and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Abu Rudeineh explained that the continued Israeli occupation and its policies in the Palestinian territories are the primary cause of escalating tension and instability in the region. He therefore called on the international community to assume its responsibilities and exert pressure to halt the violations. He also demanded that conditions be created to revive the political process in accordance with international resolutions.
He noted that the Palestinian people are holding fast to their legitimate national rights, foremost among them their right to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state. He also stressed that any regional or international efforts to achieve peace will fail unless they include a just solution to the Palestinian question, which he described as the core of the conflict in the region.
