Armed attacks and security escalation
On April 25, Mali witnessed coordinated attacks targeting several cities and strategic installations.
These attacks were carried out by the al-Qaeda-linked group Jama’at Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin (JNIM),
along with the Tuareg armed groups, the National Movement for the Liberation of Azawad (MNLA).
Following these attacks, the Malian armed forces, supported by their allies, launched counter-offensives
aimed at regaining control of the targeted areas and strengthening security and stability.
Efforts to combat armed groups active in the country have continued.
