Moscow, Russia – Russian President Vladimir Putin affirmed that his country is working closely with China to support the transition to a more balanced, multipolar world order. This, he stated, guarantees respect for the sovereignty of states and reduces the dominance of any single power in international decision-making.
Putin explained that this approach is part of growing political and economic coordination between Moscow and Beijing. This coordination also encompasses international security, trade, and energy. Furthermore, cooperation is being strengthened within multilateral organizations, most notably the BRICS group and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.
He pointed out that the world is witnessing profound shifts in the balance of power, which, he said, necessitates a reformulation of the rules of the international order to reflect the new reality and take into account the interests of emerging and developing countries, instead of perpetuating a unipolar model.
The Russian president emphasized that the partnership with China is not directed against any particular party, but rather aims to enhance global stability by creating fairer political and economic balances. This allows countries greater autonomy in making their sovereign decisions.
These statements come amidst ongoing tensions between Russia and the West over the war in Ukraine. At the same time, there is a growing convergence between Moscow and Beijing on economic and geopolitical issues, amidst a gradual reshaping of the map of international alliances.
