Paris, France – French President Emmanuel Macron held a series of intensive calls with several Gulf leaders in a notable diplomatic move ahead of a highly anticipated speech. He is expected to address regional developments and ways to de-escalate tensions.

According to diplomatic sources, the calls focused on coordinating positions regarding the escalating tensions in the Middle East. The importance of de-escalation and ensuring the security of navigation and energy supplies was also emphasized. Furthermore, political avenues to prevent the region from sliding into a wider conflict were supported.

Sources indicated that Macron’s anticipated speech will carry dual messages, both domestic and international, concerning France’s role in safeguarding regional stability. The speech will also focus on strengthening strategic partnerships with Gulf states in the areas of security and energy.

Observers believe that the French move reflects Paris’s desire to play an active mediating role between conflicting parties. It leverages its balanced relationships with Gulf capitals and seeks to maintain its political presence in sensitive regional issues.

These moves come at a time of intensified international efforts to contain the escalation. There is also anticipation regarding the positions Macron’s speech will hold, which may shape the contours of the next phase.
