Cairo, Egypt – The General Secretariat of the League of Arab States strongly condemned the Iranian attacks targeting the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia. It considered the missile attacks a blatant violation of the sovereignty of Arab states that advocate for peace and strive for stability. These countries are not involved in the ongoing conflict.
Full Arab solidarity
In a statement, the General Secretariat affirmed its full solidarity with the Arab states in the face of these attacks. It also expressed its support for any measures these states take to defend themselves, protect their territories, and ensure the safety of their people, within the framework of international laws and conventions.
Previous stances against escalation
The Arab League emphasized that Arab states have taken clear positions regarding the Iranian crisis, rejecting military action against Tehran. It noted that several Arab capitals have exerted intensive mediation efforts recently to avert the current escalation in the region.
Warning of escalating violence
The General Secretariat warned of the gravity of the current situation and its potentially far-reaching consequences for the security and stability of the region. It also called upon the international community to take immediate action to de-escalate tensions and prevent the further spread of instability and violence. The Secretariat emphasized the importance of returning to dialogue as the fundamental option for resolving crises.
