Doha, Abu Dhabi – The UAE national team qualified for the quarter-finals of the Arab Cup after defeating Kuwait 3-1 in the match that took place today, as part of the third and final round of competitions.

The UAE national team met Kuwait at “974” stadium, as part of the final round of Group C matches in the Arab Cup.

The UAE team started strongly, taking the lead with the first goal in the 16th minute, through Yahya Al-Ghasani from a penalty kick.

Not long after the first goal, Yahya Al-Ghasani added the second goal in the 18th minute, after a pass from Lucas, which he received and shot into the net.

The first half remained dominated by the UAE national team, while Kuwait made attempts to reduce the gap, but to no avail, ending with the “White” team leading by two goals to nil.

In the second half, the Kuwaiti team managed to reduce the deficit in the 59th minute, through Fahad Al-Hajri.

The goal came after a cross from a set piece, which he met with a header that found the back of the net.

In the 66th minute, Jimenez strengthened the UAE’s lead, after a rocket shot from the edge of the penalty area that found the back of the net.

The match remained a back-and-forth affair between the two teams without any new goals being scored, ending with a 3-1 victory for “Al-Abyad”.

With that result, the UAE national team raised its tally to 4 points, occupying second place and qualifying for the quarter-finals of the Arab Cup.

Meanwhile, Kuwait’s national team’s tally remained frozen at one point, placing them in last position.

It is worth noting that the Egyptian national team lost to Jordan with a score of (3-1) in the same round.
