Manama, Bahrain – The Kingdom of Bahrain strongly condemned the Iranian missile attacks targeting its territory, as well as the territories of the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, and Jordan. Bahrain described these attacks as a blatant violation of national sovereignty and a threat to the security and safety of civilians and residents. It also condemned the clear disregard for international laws and norms and the principles of good neighborliness.

Air defenses intercepted the attacks

The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs praised the efficiency of the air defense systems in the Kingdom and its sister nations. The Ministry confirmed that a number of missiles were intercepted and shot down. However, some missiles struck specific sites and facilities. It also stated that the armed forces of the sister Arab nations are on high alert to deter any further threats.

Calling on the international community to take urgent action

The Ministry called on the international community to condemn the Iranian attacks and take an immediate and decisive stance to halt the hostilities that endanger the lives of civilians. It affirmed that Arab states reserve their legal right to respond and take the necessary measures to preserve sovereignty, security, stability, and the safety of citizens and residents.

Bahrain emphasized its full support for its sister nations in confronting any threats. It also stressed the importance of Arab solidarity in protecting regional security and the stability of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states. Furthermore, it emphasized the need to prevent any attempts to destabilize peace in the region.
