Washington, DC – Recent studies and surveys reveal that many Americans hold artificial intelligence (AI) technologies largely responsible for the rise in political violence. They believe that the spread of misinformation and divisive algorithms directly contribute to escalating tensions within society.

The reports indicate that AI-powered social media platforms have indirectly contributed to the spread of conflicts between different political groups. This has been achieved by promoting controversial content and highlighting divisive news. Thus, polarization has been exacerbated.

Experts pointed out that algorithms designed to enhance interaction may create “opinion bubbles” that make users more entrenched in their own viewpoints. As a result, the likelihood of friction and clashes in the political and social spheres increases.

These findings come at a time when calls are growing within the United States for stricter regulatory frameworks for artificial intelligence. Many are focusing on combating misinformation. Others are ensuring transparency in the operation of algorithms and minimizing their negative impact on political and social stability.
