Moscow – Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov accused the United States of deep involvement in Ukrainian military strikes targeting Russian territory, revealing that Moscow has formally requested clarifications from the US State Department. Consequently, these statements highlight the escalating friction between Moscow and Washington.
Furthermore, Lavrov stated that US support extends beyond weapon deliveries to include providing intelligence data and participating in the organization and execution of attacks deep within Russia. As a result, Moscow is currently awaiting official responses from Washington regarding the exact scope of US operational assistance.
Diplomatic Channels and Threats to Western Military Supplies
On the other hand, Lavrov affirmed that President Vladimir Putin remains open to receiving envoys from US President Donald Trump to discuss peace initiatives, emphasizing the necessity of mutual compromises. Additionally, he referenced statements by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who clarified that no concrete agreement had been finalized during previous summit discussions.
Consequently, Lavrov warned that Russia will intensify military operations aimed at destroying Western military supplies reaching Kyiv, promising harsher tactics against supply networks. Ultimately, these threats aim to sever logistics channels at a time when Ukrainian forces face critical shortages in air defense systems.
Finally, direct Russian accusations against Washington place bilateral ties under severe strain. Ultimately, Washington’s official response and the fate of diplomatic initiatives will determine whether the conflict moves toward military escalation or a negotiated settlement.
