  • Background of misleading reports and media rumors

Washington, DC – US Central Command (CENTCOM) on Friday categorically denied reports circulating in various media outlets over the past 48 hours. These reports alleged deaths and suicides among the crew of the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln. This comes as the carrier continues its extended deployment in the Middle East. The deployment has now exceeded 260 days at sea.

CENTCOM refutes rumors and confirms crew safety

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) issued an official statement on its official Twitter account (formerly known as “X”) clarifying its position. The statement said that recent media reports concerning the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln are completely unfounded and lack any factual basis. Furthermore, CENTCOM emphasized that it is closely monitoring the psychological and morale state of all sailors and marines aboard the ship. The statement also refuted rumors circulating about bloody clashes or widespread suicide attempts among the crew of the massive vessel.

Record rates of military service renewal

In a related development, demonstrating the high morale and psychological stability of the sailors, Central Command revealed new data. It stated that the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln boasts one of the highest crew renewal rates among all U.S. Navy aircraft carriers. The rate now reaches approximately 84.4%. The statement emphasized that this figure clearly reflects the commitment and readiness of the service members. Therefore, it shows their willingness to continue performing their duties with high efficiency, despite the challenges and difficult operational conditions surrounding their extended deployments.

Tremendous operational achievements amidst harsh conditions

The U.S. command indicated that the sailors and marines assigned to the carrier strike group are maintaining the highest levels of resilience and combat readiness. This continues after more than 260 consecutive days at sea. During this extended deployment, the carrier’s air wing conducted approximately 10,000 strategic and tactical sorties. In addition, nearly 1.5 million pounds of various ordnance were used. This reflects the significant operational and tactical pressures placed on the crew.

Background of misleading reports and media rumors

This official denial from CENTCOM came as a direct response to unconfirmed media reports. These reports alleged that approximately seven sailors had died as a result of a violent brawl aboard the aircraft carrier. This coincided with suggestions and speculation about rising rates of depression and suicidal thoughts among crew members due to the extended deployment. However, the official military statement refuted these rumors, confirming that the security and psychological situation on board the strategic vessel was completely stable.
