Baghdad – The British Ambassador to Iraq, Irfan Siddiq, reaffirmed London’s backing for the Iraqi government’s initiatives targeting anti-corruption, financial reform, and the consolidation of the rule of law. Consequently, these discussions held with Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi underline the growing bilateral alignment on institutional development and economic transparency.

Furthermore, both officials emphasized that long-term national stability depends on strengthening state institutions and enforcing statutory frameworks. As a result, the United Kingdom pledged continued support to advance Baghdad’s comprehensive reform trajectory across key administrative sectors.

Restricting Weapons Control and Regional Stability

On the other hand, the meeting addressed measures regarding the monopoly of state weapons to reinforce the authority of official law enforcement agencies. Additionally, both leaders evaluated broader geopolitical developments and the urgent necessity of international cooperation to cool regional tensions.

Consequently, both parties stressed that sustained diplomatic dialogue represents the most viable pathway toward resolving regional disputes and securing lasting peace. Ultimately, these collaborative efforts aim to preserve Iraq’s sovereignty while fostering broader regional consensus.

Finally, the dialogue demonstrates the UK’s commitment to supporting Iraq’s governance and security frameworks. Ultimately, translating these diplomatic affirmations into structural progress will remain pivotal for long-term stability.
