Hadhramaut, Yemen – The Hadhrami Elite Forces took full control of key locations in the Hadhramaut plateau early this morning. They immediately began securing oil facilities and protecting production lines from any potential threats. This move reflects concerted efforts to ensure the stability of the region’s vital oil sector.

Field sources confirmed that the Hadrami Elite Forces have begun imposing strict security measures at the entrances and exits of oil sites. They have also established checkpoints within the plateau to ensure the safety of employees and secure transportation and logistical services related to the oil sector.

These developments coincided with the Southern Transitional Council’s takeover of the presidential palace and the headquarters of the First Military Region in Seiyun, Hadramawt Governorate. This move was part of an operation launched under the name “Promising Future,” aimed at liberating the valley and desert from the influence of forces loyal to the First Military Region.

These moves constitute a strategic step to consolidate southern influence in eastern Yemen. They also aim to cut off any potential military supply routes to forces loyal to the First Military Region, thus ensuring a unified military structure under the authority of the Southern Transitional Council and its forces.

Local welcome and a boost to stability

Local residents and oil company employees indicated that regaining control and securing the sites reflects the Hadrami Elite Forces’ commitment to protecting the region’s resources. This strengthens the stability of the Hadramawt plateau and contributes to maintaining uninterrupted oil production.

The forces are continuing their operations to establish security and secure all vital locations in the plateau. This comes as part of broader efforts to ensure a safe and stable environment that allows for the continuation of economic activity and essential services in Hadramawt.

strategic turning point

In a related development concerning the southern victories, Sheikh Lahmar bin Lasoud, head of the executive body of the Southern Transitional Council in Shabwa, stated that the victories achieved by the southern forces in Seiyun, including the liberation of the First Military Region camps, Seiyun Airport, and the Arin base in Shabwa, represent a “strategic turning point” that had been years in the making.

Bin Lasoud praised the efforts of the Southern Transitional Council’s political leadership. He also affirmed that the military operation was managed “with minimal losses and high professionalism.” He added that the battle to liberate Wadi Hadramawt “was long awaited by the people of the valley,” referring to the “grave violations they had suffered since the summer of 1994.”
