Bangui, Central African Republic – The African Union congratulated the Central African Republic on its National Declaration Day, reaffirming its support for the government’s efforts to promote national reconciliation and consolidate security after years of political and security instability.

The congratulatory message came in an official statement in which the Union highlighted the importance of this occasion in strengthening national identity. It also affirmed its support for state institutions and encouraged the democratic transition efforts the country is undertaking in cooperation with regional and international partners.

The African Union affirmed that the Central African Republic has made significant progress in recent years in the areas of security and community dialogue, despite ongoing challenges. It emphasized that the organization will continue to provide logistical and technical support to ensure the sustainability of peace and development.

The statement also called for strengthening popular participation in nation-building and improving the efficiency of institutions. It further urged bolstering regional efforts to counter shared threats such as extremism and armed violence, with the aim of creating a stable environment that enables citizens to achieve their desired development.

This national occasion is an opportunity to highlight Central Africa’s commitment to the path of stability, and to strengthen cooperation with its partners on the continent to support both security and development.
