The Israeli army announced that it intercepted a missile launched from Yemen. The Houthis are constantly launching attacks on Israel in support of Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

The army said in a post on Telegram on Thursday. It stated, “following the sirens sounding a short while ago in several areas in Israel, the Israeli Air Force intercepted a missile launched from Yemen.”

This came after Israel launched air strikes yesterday on several targets in Sanaa and Al-Jawf in the north of the country.

It targeted the “Moral Guidance Headquarters in the Tahrir District in the center of the capital,” and the “Civil Status Building in Al-Hazm District” in Al-Jawf.

In addition to the Central Bank and government buildings, according to Houthi media.

The Israeli army reported that it struck “military targets, including camps where Houthi military elements were spotted.”

In addition to the headquarters of the Houthi Military Information Directorate and a fuel storage site used for military activities.

Assassination of Al-Rahawi

On August 28, Israel launched violent raids on the capital, Sanaa.

This raid led to the assassination of Houthi Prime Minister Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Rahwi and 11 ministers and high-ranking officials.

While the Houthi leader threatened Israel with more missile attacks and marches. He described this as a “continuous, steady and upward path,” as he put it.

Since the start of the war in Gaza on October 7, 2023, following Hamas’ attack on Israeli settlements and bases in the Gaza Strip, the Houthis have regularly fired ballistic missiles and drones towards Israel. However, they have often been intercepted.

They also launched attacks on commercial ships in the Red Sea, which they said were linked to Israel.

Meanwhile, Israel has responded for months with strikes targeting Houthi sites, infrastructure and leaders across Yemen, killing hundreds of people.
