Abu Dhabi, UAE – Competent UAE authorities foiled two human smuggling operations across the country’s borders—one attempting to illegally infiltrate individuals into the nation, and another aimed at smuggling a wanted suspect out of the country. All individuals involved were apprehended and referred to the Public Prosecution for investigation.
Foiling Plan to Infiltrate 18 Individuals
The first operation unfolded following intelligence regarding a plan to illegally bring 18 Asian nationals into the country in batches, assisted by a Gulf national.
Surveillance and tracking operations led to the arrest of the suspect upon entering through a border crossing, accompanied by two infiltrators and five family members whom he brought along to give the trip a family appearance and disguise the smuggling attempt.
Attempted Smuggling of Wanted Suspect Abroad
In the second operation, authorities foiled an attempt to smuggle a foreign national out of the country to enable them to evade legal restrictions and arrest warrants issued against them.
Investigations revealed that the operation was planned and executed by a Gulf woman with her daughter’s assistance, taking advantage of their ease of movement and bringing family members along to conceal their activities. Investigations also disclosed that the woman routinely smuggled infiltrators out of the country, while her daughter’s husband had previously faced similar charges.
Referral to Public Prosecution and Border Security
Authorities apprehended all suspects involved in both operations, while the Public Prosecution initiated investigations to uncover the details of both incidents and determine the roles of those involved.
Authorities emphasized that foiling both operations reflects the vigilance and efficiency of competent security agencies in countering border infiltration and smuggling attempts, thereby enhancing border security, protecting community safety, and upholding the rule of law.
