Pristina – Kosovo – The UAE national Muay Thai team won 10 medals at the conclusion of its participation in the World Muay Thai Elite Championship – Kosovo 2026. It was held in Dijan, Kosovo, with 6 gold, 1 silver, and 3 bronze medals, topping the Arab rankings, achieving second place in Asia and fourth place globally out of 52 countries.
This achievement came with the participation of only six players, in the delegation that participated least in the tournament in terms of the number of players. All the team’s champions were able to climb the podiums. In a result that reflects the distinguished level presented by the UAE champions and their ability to compete and win medals in various weights and styles.
The team’s participation in the tournament comes as part of the external events of the 2026-2027 “UAE Champions Season”. Under the supervision of the International Muay Thai Federation “IFMA”, it continues its strong presence in continental and world championships.
In the MT Technical competition, our national team won 6 medals, including 5 gold and 1 bronze. Mohamed Twizi won the gold medal in the 57 kg weight category for men, Yassin Karimi won the gold medal in the 63.5 kg weight category, and Ahmed Ismail won the gold medal in the 75 kg weight category. Meanwhile, Mohamed Abdel Aziz won the gold medal in the 81 kg weight class for the under 24 category, and Emad Youssef won the gold medal in the 86 kg weight class for the same age group. Mohamed Karimi won a bronze medal in the 71 kg men’s weight category.
In the Muaythai Combat competition, the national team champions added 4 medals to the tally, with Imad Youssef winning the gold medal in the 86 kg weight category for the under-24 category. To achieve his second gold medal in the tournament, Mohamed Abdel Aziz won the silver medal in the 81 kg weight category for the same category. Meanwhile, Mohammed Tuizi won the bronze medal in the 57 kg men’s weight class, and Yassin Karimi won the bronze medal in the 63.5 kg men’s weight class. Each of them combined gold and bronze during the tournament.
