Amman, Jordan – Jordan and Syria affirmed the importance of continued coordination and consultation regarding the rapidly evolving situation in the region, while supporting efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions, halting the escalation, and enhancing security and stability. This came during discussions that addressed a number of regional issues. The talks also covered bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to develop joint cooperation in the coming period.
Both sides emphasized the need for continued political and diplomatic efforts to address the crises plaguing the region and to prevent the escalation of tensions or their spread to new arenas, as such escalation threatens the security and stability of the region’s countries. The discussion also touched upon the importance of strengthening Jordanian-Syrian cooperation in various fields, particularly given the shared interests that bind the two countries and the security and economic issues that necessitate increased coordination and communication.
Jordan attaches great importance to the stability of Syria, given that developments within the country directly impact the security of its borders and the region. Meanwhile, Damascus seeks to expand its relations with neighboring countries and strengthen regional cooperation. These moves come at a time of escalating tensions in the region. Therefore, this underscores the critical importance of Arab diplomatic efforts aimed at containing crises, supporting political solutions, and preserving the security of nations and their people. The coordination between Amman and Damascus affirms that both countries rely on dialogue and joint action as essential means to address these challenges.
