Kabul, Afghanistan — Taliban supporters gathered in the capital to mark the fifth anniversary of their return to power following the foreign troop withdrawal. Consequently, government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid praised the occasion as a historic victory, according to details in Xinhua News Agency reporting. Furthermore, Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi urged Washington to reopen its embassy and initiate foreign investment across the country.

Foreign ministry representatives emphasized that improved internal security presents extensive opportunities for foreign capital in mining. Additionally, officials aim to strengthen economic self-reliance while navigating international banking restrictions.

Economic Pressures and Restrictions on Women

On the other hand, domestic economic conditions remain strained despite real GDP growth, with living costs impacting millions. Additionally, analysis in Human Rights Watch reporting highlights ongoing humanitarian pressures compounded by refugee returns from neighboring countries.

Consequently, international organizations continue criticizing bans on secondary and university education for women and girls. Human rights monitors emphasize that ongoing diplomatic isolation hampers broader economic recovery.

Finally, long-term economic stability remains linked to diplomatic engagement with the international community. Ultimately, expanding education and employment opportunities serves as a foundation for sustainable development.
