Tripoli, Libya – The Deputy Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives called for a comprehensive investigation into recent armed clashes in the western city of Sorman. Consequently, this demand emphasizes holding all individuals responsible for the violence fully accountable under the law.

Furthermore, the official warned that the continuous proliferation of armed militias poses a direct threat to national stability. As a result, he urged swift legal and administrative action to protect civilian lives and uphold state institutions.

Security Challenges and Restoring State Authority

On the other hand, the outbreak of violence triggered widespread local calls to curb militia influence and enforce state authority. Specifically, residents are demanding a stronger official security presence across western municipalities.

Additionally, political analysts note that containing such violent outbreaks requires decisive judicial and security measures to prevent recurring incidents. Consequently, restoring regional stability relies heavily on strictly enforcing institutional governance across all territories.

Finally, the Sorman clashes place Libya’s security apparatus and judicial mechanisms under renewed pressure. Ultimately, enforcing accountability and dismantling unlawful armed structures remain indispensable steps toward lasting national peace.
