Brussels, Belgium – The European Union imposed new sanctions targeting five individuals associated with Russia’s military-industrial complex. Consequently, this measure comes as a direct response to recent Russian airstrikes launched against targets in Ukraine.

Furthermore, EU Foreign Policy Chief Kaja Kallas confirmed that the listings focus directly on key defense executives. Specifically, the designated individuals include Alexander Dyukarev, CEO of “Krasmash” which manufactures Sarmat ballistic missiles, and Ramil Bahauddinov, CEO of the “Metalist” plant involved in Iskander-M missile systems.

Disrupting Missile Chains and Technological Pressure

On the other hand, the sanctions target officials leading firms specialized in military communications, drone software development, and military space technology. Consequently, these measures aim to disrupt access to precision components and software necessary for advanced weaponry.

Additionally, this new wave follows the recent adoption of the EU’s 21st comprehensive sanctions package against Moscow. As a result, European leaders continue escalating economic and technological pressure to constrain Russia’s military production capacity.

Finally, these targeted sanctions underline Europe’s sustained commitment to squeezing Russia’s defense production lines. Ultimately, Brussels remains focused on restricting critical components and curbing Moscow’s military-industrial capabilities.
