London, United Kingdom – A report by the British newspaper “The Telegraph” revealed that Iran attempted to smuggle secret operatives into the United Kingdom across the English Channel using migrant boats, reflecting mounting security concerns surrounding irregular smuggling networks.

Thwarting Infiltration Attempts and Heightened Security

According to the report, British law enforcement authorities successfully thwarted the entry of a number of suspects linked to Iranian intelligence agencies after they attempted to cross the channel in small boats.

The report indicated that investigations remain ongoing to accurately determine the identities of these individuals and the nature of the tasks they intended to carry out within British territory, amid strict security measures.

Exploiting Smuggling Networks and Intelligence Operations

The newspaper added that smuggling networks established by Tehran decades ago in Middle East to transport weapons, missiles, and funds to its allies are now also being used to reach Europe.

Citing Iranian sources and smugglers, the report noted that these routes are utilized—alongside human and drug smuggling—to transport individuals whom Iran intends to employ as operatives inside Britain, fueling growing concerns among UK security agencies.
