Kuwait – Reflecting the gravity of security threats facing regional infrastructure, the State of Kuwait today, Sunday, held Iran fully responsible for an attack that targeted a power generation and water desalination plant on its territory. In an official statement, the Kuwaiti government condemned the assault, describing it as a “flagrant violation of international law,” and emphasized that targeting civilian facilities poses a direct threat to the safety of civilians and the stability of essential services.

Official Condemnation: Targeting Infrastructure is a “Red Line”

Kuwaiti authorities expressed deep indignation at this escalation, confirming that the attack on the power and desalination plant not only violates state sovereignty but directly threatens vital services for citizens and residents. Kuwait stated that such attacks disregard all international norms and charters and place the security of vital facilities at the forefront of national priorities.

Holding Iran Accountable and Calling for International Action

Kuwait asserted that Iran bears full legal and political responsibility for the consequences of this attack. In its statement, it called on the international community to take immediate action and adopt a firm stance against aggressions targeting civilian facilities in the region, warning that silence regarding such violations could lead to an expansion of the conflict and jeopardize regional security and stability in ways that may become difficult to contain.

National Alert to Protect Vital Facilities

Competent authorities in Kuwait confirmed their continued implementation of all preventive and security measures to ensure the safety of vital facilities and the uninterrupted continuity of essential services. This mobilization is part of a high-level national coordination effort to confront any future threats, emphasizing that the protection of civilian infrastructure remains a top priority for the state amidst heightened regional tensions.

This development comes at a time of increasing regional security tensions, intensifying pressure on nations to strengthen their internal fronts and protect their national assets, amidst repeated international calls for de-escalation and preventing a slide into confrontations that threaten the vital infrastructure of regional states.
