Amman, Jordan – In an official statement reflecting the highest levels of military readiness, the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces – the Arab Army, announced this morning, Monday, July 13, 2026, the success of the air defense systems in intercepting and destroying four missiles that entered the Kingdom’s airspace coming from Iranian territory.

Operational efficiency and decisive response

A responsible military source at the General Command of the Armed Forces explained that the interception operation was carried out at dawn today with high efficiency, within the framework of approved operational procedures to protect the Kingdom’s sovereignty and ensure the safety and security of its citizens. The source also confirmed that the hostile targets were dealt with with extreme precision. This resulted in the successful destruction of the missiles without any casualties or material damage at the sites where the debris fell.

Security measures and site security

Following the operation, specialized teams from the Royal Engineers immediately moved to deal with the shrapnel scattered across several locations. The necessary technical and security procedures were implemented to fully secure those areas. Furthermore, the Armed Forces took all precautionary measures to ensure the safety of citizens and property, confirming that the situation is completely under control.

A clear sovereign message

The military source emphasized that the Jordanian Armed Forces – the Arab Army – continue to perform their sacred duty of defending the homeland with the highest levels of readiness and preparedness. They also continue to monitor various regional developments to detect any threat that might target the Kingdom’s security or violate its airspace. The statement affirmed that any attempt to infringe upon Jordan’s sovereignty will be met with firmness and force, in accordance with the established rules of engagement and as dictated by the supreme national interest. The Armed Forces also stressed that they will never hesitate to take all necessary measures to protect the security and stability of the nation.

A call for national awareness

In closing, the General Command of the Armed Forces urged citizens to obtain news and information related to this incident only from official sources and to disregard rumors or the circulation of unreliable information intended to incite panic. It also affirmed that transparency is the Armed Forces’ approach in keeping the Jordanian people informed of the facts as they unfold. The statement emphasized the importance of community solidarity in supporting the efforts of the Armed Forces and security services in carrying out their national duties.
