Washington, DC – US Central Command announced Sunday the execution of the third round of military strikes against Iran. It confirmed that approximately 140 military targets were struck using precision munitions launched from fighter jets, naval vessels, and drones. This comes in response to an Iranian attack on a commercial vessel in the Strait of Hormuz on July 11.
The command stated in an official statement that the strikes targeted missile and drone launch sites, naval capabilities, ammunition depots, and communications networks. Additionally, the strikes included coastal surveillance sites with the aim of reducing Iran’s military capabilities used to threaten international navigation.
She added that the total targets that were targeted during three nights of operations exceeded 300 military targets. It indicated that the strikes were carried out under the directives of the US President, within the framework of protecting freedom of navigation. This was aimed at responding to attacks targeting commercial ships.
