Moscow, Russia – The Russian Defense Ministry announced that its armed forces carried out strikes targeting a Ukrainian oil tanker and a ship, asserting that the two vessels were being used to transport shipments of weapons and military equipment destined for Ukrainian forces.
In a statement, the ministry explained that the operation was part of a series of strikes targeting Ukrainian military logistics infrastructure and supply networks. It also indicated that Russian forces used precision weapons to strike the maritime targets and prevent military supplies from reaching Kyiv.
The statement added that the attacks also targeted military sites, facilities, and ammunition depots in several Ukrainian regions as part of ongoing military operations, asserting that all identified targets were successfully struck.
Ukrainian authorities did not immediately comment on Moscow’s announcement. Meanwhile, military operations continue between the two sides, with escalating attacks on military installations and infrastructure. The war continues to impact maritime security in the Black Sea and maritime supply lines.
