Brussels, Belgium – The European Union condemned the terrorist bombing that targeted a cafe near the Palace of Justice in the Syrian capital, Damascus, which resulted in deaths and injuries.
It also reaffirmed its continued support for the Syrian government in its efforts to combat terrorism and promote security and stability.
European condemnation of the attack
The European Union spokesperson, Anwar Al-Anouni, affirmed the EU’s unequivocal rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism.
He also emphasized the continuation of cooperation with the Syrian government in confronting terrorist threats.
He noted that the European Union stands with Syria in its efforts to combat terrorism.

Condolences and solidarity with the victims
On behalf of the European Union, Al-Announi offered his deepest condolences to the families of the victims of the bombing,
expressing the EU’s solidarity with the injured and the families of the victims in this tragedy.
He emphasized that targeting civilians with terrorist acts constitutes
a violation of human values and requires unequivocal international condemnation.
Continued international condemnations
The European stance comes amid continued international condemnation of Thursday’s bombing,
which killed 10 people and injured 21 others.
Syrian authorities affirmed that the terrorist attack would not deter them
from continuing their efforts to protect citizens and strengthen security and stability.
They also emphasized their continued pursuit of those responsible for these terrorist acts.
