Beirut, Lebanon – Lebanese President Joseph Aoun stated that signing the framework agreement with Israel represents a first step towards restoring Lebanon’s sovereignty over all its territory.
He affirmed the state’s commitment to continuing efforts to complete this process and consolidate its authority over all Lebanese lands.
Emphasis on restoring sovereignty
Aoun stated that the agreement marks the beginning of a phase aimed at realizing the full sovereignty of the Lebanese state.
He also emphasized that the state’s commitment will continue until this goal is fully achieved.
The Lebanese president added, “We swore to realize full sovereignty, and we swear to continue working until it is achieved,”
referring to the Lebanese authorities’ commitment to fulfilling the obligations associated with the agreement.
Lebanese return to their regions
The Lebanese president affirmed that the agreement represents a first step towards
the return of Lebanese citizens to their liberated lands and homes.
He also expressed his hope that the new understandings would contribute
to restoring stability to the affected areas and creating the conditions for the return of residents.
He noted that the next phase will require continued political and security efforts.
This is essential to ensure the implementation of the agreement’s provisions and the achievement of its objectives.

Aoun expressed his gratitude to the brotherly and friendly nations
that supported Lebanon’s position during the negotiations, which he described as difficult.
He affirmed that this support contributed to reaching the framework agreement.
