Tel Aviv, Israel – Sirens wailed across large parts of Israel on Monday following a barrage of rockets reportedly launched from Iran. This triggered a security alert and widespread panic among residents in several cities.
Hebrew media reported that air defense systems detected multiple projectiles in the air. Interceptor systems were activated at several locations. Hundreds of residents rushed to shelters immediately after hearing the sirens.
In the same context, sources at Ben Gurion International Airport announced the evacuation of passengers from one of the planes as a precautionary measure, after the attack coincided with heightened security around the airport. Some air traffic was temporarily suspended until the situation stabilized.
Reports indicated significant disruption to air traffic. Some flights were diverted, and others were delayed. This comes amid close monitoring by the Israeli Civil Aviation Authority and security services.
These developments occur against a backdrop of escalating regional tensions and exchanges of attacks on multiple fronts. This raises concerns about a potential widening of the conflict in the coming period, while the state of alert continues within Israel.
