Tehran, Iran – In a striking message marking the 37th anniversary of the death of the founder of the Iranian regime, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei warned that the “hegemonic system” led by the United States has shifted to a new strategy targeting Iran’s internal affairs.
Khamenei asserted that the enemy, having suffered profound humiliation and successive defeats on the battlefield, has resorted to a comprehensive “hybrid war.” This war aims to undermine the resilience of the Iranian people and disrupt the accountability of its officials.
The Iranian Supreme Leader explained that this war is not being waged with conventional weapons, but rather through “soft” means that rely on sowing seeds of doubt, despair, and division among the various segments of society.
He pointed out that the enemy’s strategic objective is to undermine the mutual trust between the people and the leadership. Furthermore, the enemy seeks to push officials to make wrong decisions that serve the interests of foreign powers and hinder Iran’s progress and sovereignty.
In outlining the confrontation, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei presented a roadmap for the next phase, emphasizing that countering these schemes requires collective awareness and political insight. Key points highlighted in the message included the necessity of adhering to the principles of the Islamic Revolution and avoiding the deviations the enemy is attempting to promote. He also stressed the importance of maintaining a unified domestic front, considering it the shield against foreign infiltration. Furthermore, he underscored the crucial role of trust between citizens and state institutions in thwarting attempts to sow doubt.
In concluding his message, Khamenei stressed that “thwarting malicious plots” is the responsibility of everyone, from the top to the bottom, noting that the current phase demands the highest levels of vigilance and unity.
He added: “In the face of the enemy’s ill intentions, everyone must foil its malicious plan through steadfastness, insight, maintaining unity and cohesion, mutual trust, and by not aligning in any way with the enemy’s agendas.” These warnings come at a time of escalating geopolitical tensions in the region. This reflects the Iranian leadership’s commitment to safeguarding the country against any attempts to destabilize it or influence its political and economic trajectory.
