Moscow, Russia – The Russian Defense Ministry announced that its forces have captured four new towns in the areas of military operations in Ukraine.
This comes as five large-scale joint strikes targeted Ukrainian military installations,
command centers, and troop concentrations over the past week.
Strengthening field control
The Ministry of Defense stated in an official statement that Russian forces continued their advance on several fronts.
It confirmed that the recent military operations resulted in increased territorial control
and weakened the defensive capabilities of Ukrainian forces in a number of strategic areas.
The statement added that the joint strikes were carried out using long-range precision weapons and attack drones.
They targeted military-industrial facilities, ammunition depots, and drone operations centers.
The strikes also targeted Ukrainian troop concentrations and Western-made equipment delivered to Kyiv in recent months.
The Russian Ministry of Defense asserted that the recent operations resulted
in the destruction of significant quantities of weapons and military equipment.
Furthermore, they disrupted supply and logistical support lines for Ukrainian forces on several fronts.
The fighting continues violently
In contrast, Ukrainian authorities have not released full details regarding the areas Moscow claims to have captured.
However, they have confirmed in previous statements that fierce fighting continues
along the front lines, particularly in the east and south of the country.
This development comes as the Russian-Ukrainian war continues to escalate on the ground.
Air strikes and exchanges of fire between the two sides persist,
amid international warnings of a widening conflict and the ongoing humanitarian and economic repercussions.
These recent military developments also coincide with renewed Western calls for a political settlement to the war,
while European and American military support for Ukraine continues.
Meanwhile, Moscow maintains that it will continue its military operations until it achieves its stated objectives.
