The Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the UN Security Council affirmed, during an official session, his country’s full solidarity with the United Arab Emirates, stressing that its security and stability represent an inseparable part of the security matrix in the Arabian Gulf region.
Collective Coordination to Face Security Threats
The Bahraini envoy explained that the security challenges facing the countries of the region require collective coordination and unified stances within international frameworks, foremost among which is the Security Council, in order to promote regional stability and counter any threats affecting the security of Gulf states.
He noted that Bahrain views any targeting of a brotherly country within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) as a direct threat to shared security, which necessitates a cohesive diplomatic movement that guarantees the protection of the strategic interests of Gulf states and enhances the stability of the entire region.
Supporting De-escalation Efforts and Mitigating Crises in the Middle East
He also called for the importance of continued dialogue and coordination among member states of the Council and within the international system, to support efforts aimed at reducing tensions and preventing the escalation of crises in the Middle East.
This stance comes within the context of a series of mutually supportive Gulf positions inside international forums, in light of the growing political and security challenges the region is witnessing, which demand unified positions and wider cooperation.
