Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – The Makkah Route Initiative continues to achieve remarkable results in facilitating the journey of pilgrims from the moment they depart their home countries until their arrival in the Holy Land. The pre-labeling baggage system has contributed to streamlining procedures and reducing waiting times at airports.
The system involves registering and labeling pilgrims’ luggage at local airports in participating countries. This allows luggage to be delivered directly to pilgrims’ accommodations in Makkah and Madinah, eliminating the need for collection procedures or re-inspection upon arrival.
The organizers indicate that this step has helped reduce congestion in arrival halls and has improved the efficiency of movement within airports. Furthermore, it has eased the burden on the elderly and pilgrims arriving from long distances.
This initiative, part of the digital transformation of Hajj services, reflects a clear commitment to enhancing the pilgrim experience. This is achieved through the use of technological solutions that reduce administrative complexity and ensure a smoother journey from beginning to end.
