Moscow, Russia – The governor of Russia’s Leningrad region, Alexander Drozdenko, announced that Ukrainian drones targeted the port of Primorsk on the Baltic Sea on Sunday, causing a fire at the site. Drozdenko explained via Telegram that Russian air defenses shot down more than 60 drones overnight over the Leningrad region in northwestern Russia.
The Russian official confirmed that no oil spill resulted from the attack, despite the port’s importance as a key oil export hub. He also noted that emergency teams were able to control and extinguish the fire. These developments come amid ongoing tit-for-tat attacks between Moscow and Kyiv, which often target vital infrastructure, including energy facilities and ports.
