Abu Dhabi, UAE – The Organizing Committee of the 2026 World Jiu-Jitsu Championship, during its meeting held at Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi, approved the operational and organizational requirements for the tournament hosted by the capital, Abu Dhabi, during the period from 1 to 9 August, organized by the International Federation of the game. This is within the framework of preparations aimed at bringing out the event according to the highest technical, administrative and logistical standards, reflecting the global position of the UAE in the sport of Jiu-Jitsu.

The committee stressed that hosting the tournament embodies the leadership’s continued support for Emirati sports. The integrated system it provided contributed to enabling national sports federations to attract and organize the most prominent international tournaments. Consolidating the country’s position as an international jiu-jitsu center and a platform that brings together players, referees, experts and decision-makers from around the world.

The meeting is a key stage for reviewing executive priorities and allocating responsibilities. Approval of timetables for completing all requirements before the start of the tournament.

The committee reviewed the most prominent operational files, most notably marketing, visual identity, logistics services, and preparing the competition site. Accommodation, transportation, medical services, in addition to the general operating plan. To ensure the readiness of all organizational tracks according to the approved timetable.

The committee discussed preliminary estimates of the number of participants, which indicate the participation of about 2,500 male and female players, while approving operational readiness capable of accommodating up to 3,000 participants. This will enhance the flexibility of organizational plans and accommodate any potential increase in the number of delegations, including players, coaches, referees, and administrators.

The Committee stressed the importance of coordination and advance preparation of all files directly related to the quality of organization and the experience of delegations. Most notably medical services, receiving players and referees, and smooth transportation between the airport, hotels, and the tournament site. In addition to assigning the OS volunteer team to prepare an integrated plan to receive delegations at the airport and hotels.

The committee emphasized the pivotal role of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation in providing the logistical, media, and visual identity services for the tournament. This enhances the event’s corporate identity and reflects the image of the UAE.
