Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia affirmed its continued support for the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Centre, as part of its commitment to strengthening international efforts to counter extremism and eliminate its root causes. It also supports initiatives aimed at achieving global security and stability.

Relevant authorities explained that this support stems from the Kingdom’s role in multilateral action. It reflects its keenness to enhance international cooperation in addressing shared security challenges, particularly in light of the growing threats posed by extremist groups and their evolving tactics.

Officials noted that the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Centre plays a pivotal role in supporting the capabilities of member states through training programs, capacity building, and the exchange of expertise. This contributes to enhancing the effectiveness of institutions involved in counter-terrorism efforts.

Saudi Arabia emphasized that the approach to combating terrorism is not limited to security measures alone, but also includes addressing the intellectual and economic roots that fuel extremism. This is achieved through promoting a culture of tolerance and moderation, and supporting sustainable development initiatives.

This step comes within the context of ongoing international efforts to strengthen coordination and integration among states and international institutions. The goal is to confront one of the most serious challenges threatening international peace and security.

Observers believe that the continuation of this support reflects a clear trend toward strengthening effective international partnerships. This ensures the sustainability of global efforts to combat terrorism and address its evolving threats.
