  • Islamabad’s Mediation: Why is Russia Betting on the Pakistani Role?
  • Gulf Stability: A Shared Vision to End Conflicts

Moscow – Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov discussed with his Pakistani counterpart Ishaq Dar, in a phone call today, the rapid developments in the Gulf region and bilateral cooperation files. Lavrov specifically praised the role Islamabad is playing to open communication channels between Iran and the United States. Accordingly, the Russian-Pakistani coordination in the Gulf crisis 2026 represents a new axis for enhancing regional stability, as Moscow confirmed its full readiness to support any diplomatic path leading to lasting agreements that end the current state of tension.

Islamabad’s Mediation: Why is Russia Betting on the Pakistani Role?

The Russian Foreign Ministry clarified that coordination with Pakistan aims to bolster security in the Gulf region by supporting sustainable political solutions. Obviously, Lavrov sees the recent Pakistani movements as a “golden opportunity” to defuse the confrontation between Tehran and Washington. As a result, this Russian praise provides international momentum to ongoing diplomatic efforts, especially given Moscow’s desire to secure energy corridors and ensure the region does not slide into an open conflict that could threaten the strategic interests of all parties

Gulf Stability: A Shared Vision to End Conflicts

Both sides emphasized during the call the importance of intensifying diplomatic efforts at this critical stage. Certainly, the Russian-Pakistani consensus sends a strong message about the necessity of prioritizing dialogue over military escalation. Accordingly, the Russian-Pakistani coordination in the Gulf crisis 2026 remains a cornerstone in attempts to contain regional crises, amid international anticipation of the breakthroughs these contacts might achieve in the complex crisis between Iran and the United States.
