Doha, Qatar – H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, held an extensive discussion session with H.E. Hakan Fidan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, addressing the latest rapid developments in the region. The discussions focused on coordinating joint efforts to reduce escalation and ensure the security and stability of vital corridors and regions. Accordingly, Qatar-Turkey coordination for de-escalation represents a fundamental pillar of regional diplomacy seeking peaceful and sustainable solutions to existing crises, serving the interests of the region’s people and their aspirations for peace.

Antalya Diplomacy Forum: A Platform to Address the Roots of Regional Crises

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, where both ministers reviewed the latest updates regarding the ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran, and the efforts made to ensure its continuity. Obviously, both sides stressed the necessity of addressing the roots of crises through direct dialogue rather than military confrontation. As a result, both parties praised the role played by Qatari and Turkish mediation in bridging viewpoints and providing a suitable environment for international negotiations, affirming that diplomacy remains the only safe option to avoid sliding into broader conflicts.

Enhancing Regional Security and Mitigating the Economic Impacts of Tensions

During the talks, both sides emphasized the importance of continued coordination among key regional players to mitigate the impacts of political tensions on economic conditions and supply chains. Certainly, the Qatari-Turkish alignment aims to create a strong diplomatic front calling for calm and restraint from all parties. Accordingly, Qatar-Turkey coordination for de-escalation remains a model of strategic bilateral cooperation that prioritizes regional stability above all else, with an emphasis on continued consultation in all international forums to support paths of peace and prosperity.
