Manama, Bahrain – The Kingdom of Bahrain condemned the attack targeting the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).
It considered this attack a serious violation of international law and a direct threat to peacekeeping efforts in the region.
Bahrain stands in solidarity with the United Nations
The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in an official statement, affirmed its complete rejection of all forms of violence targeting international missions.
It also stressed the necessity of providing the necessary protection for UNIFIL personnel
to enable them to carry out their duties in maintaining security and stability in southern Lebanon.
Bahrain expressed its solidarity with the United Nations and the countries contributing troops to UNIFIL.
It also called for an immediate investigation to hold those responsible for this attack accountable
and to prevent the recurrence of such incidents, which undermine efforts to de-escalate tensions.
The targeting threatens stability in the region
She also stressed the importance of respecting international resolutions, particularly Resolution 1701,
which provides the legal framework for the UN peacekeeping force in Lebanon.
She emphasized that targeting these forces threatens the fragile stability of the region.
Observers believe that the recurrence of such attacks highlights the security challenges facing peacekeeping forces.
