Kyiv, Ukraine – Ukrainian authorities announced that 11 people were killed in new Russian attacks targeting several areas within the country. These attacks are considered among the most intense in recent times, coinciding with a continued military escalation on the front lines.
Ukrainian military data indicates that air defense systems intercepted 31 missiles and 636 drones during what were described as large-scale attacks. These attacks targeted vital facilities and infrastructure in several cities.
The data also indicates that the attacks caused varying degrees of damage to some residential and service areas. Meanwhile, emergency teams are continuing rescue operations and debris removal, amid fears that the death toll will rise in the coming hours.
Russia has not yet issued a detailed comment on these figures. Moscow and Kyiv have been exchanging accusations regarding the targeting of infrastructure since the beginning of the war.
This escalation comes amid a relative stalemate in negotiations between the two sides, despite repeated international calls to return to the negotiating table, and amid fears of a wider military expansion in the coming period.
