Tel Aviv, Israel – The Israeli military denied media reports that Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem was targeted during recent airstrikes on Lebanon. It confirmed that he was not on the target list.

Official denial of the reports

The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation stated that reports circulating about an assassination attempt against Naim Qassem were untrue. It indicated that the airstrikes did not directly target him, contrary to what some media outlets had reported.

large-scale attacks

In the same context, the Israeli army announced it had carried out one of its largest airstrikes in Lebanon since the start of military operations. It stated that it targeted approximately 100 Hezbollah sites and infrastructure in a short period. The strikes were also carried out simultaneously in several areas.

The army indicated that the attack had been planned for weeks and involved operations and intelligence units, the air force, and the Northern Command. This comes amid an ongoing military escalation in Lebanon.
