Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates — Anwar Gargash criticized remarks by Mohammad Javad Zarif, arguing that they overlook a core flaw in Iran’s regional strategy—targeting Gulf states.
Sharp criticism of Iran’s policy
Anwar Gargash said on X that Iran’s actions toward its Gulf neighbors reflect the root of its regional crisis.
He added that the use of missiles and drones against infrastructure and civilians represents “arrogance and strategic failure,” not strength.
Political signals and warnings
He emphasized that such actions reveal a deeper issue in Iran’s approach, noting that narratives framed as “victory” are, in reality, destruction.
He also pointed out that these narratives are losing credibility among Arab public opinion.
Zarif calls for US agreement
Meanwhile, Mohammad Javad Zarif called for leveraging the current conflict to reach a non-aggression agreement with the United States.
He suggested that such a move could ease tensions and allow Iran to focus on domestic priorities while opening the door for long-term diplomatic solutions.
