Cairo, Egypt – The Arab Republic of Egypt, in a statement issued by its Ministry of Foreign Affairs, strongly condemned Israel’s repeated violations of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.
The statement noted that these latest violations resulted in the deaths of 25 Palestinians, threatening to reignite the conflict.
Threat to the political process
Cairo stressed that this military escalation comes at a critical time when regional and international powers are striving to bolster stability.
The Egypt of Foreign Ministry warned that these violations directly impede the implementation of the “second phase”
of US President Donald Trump’s peace plan and hinder the activation of UN Security Council Resolution 2803.
The Egypt state affirmed that the continuation of military operations undermines efforts to create
the necessary political and security environment for transitioning the Gaza Strip to a state of lasting stability,
and obstructs urgent humanitarian efforts aimed at alleviating the suffering of the Strip’s residents.
A call for restraint
In closing, Egypt issued an urgent appeal to all parties concerned to fulfill
their commitments and shoulder their historical responsibilities at this critical juncture.
It called for maximum restraint to ensure the sustainability of the ceasefire
and to avoid any unilateral actions that could derail the existing political process.
Egypt also reiterated that maintaining calm is the only path to initiating early recovery efforts
and launching a comprehensive reconstruction drive in the Gaza Strip,
thus guaranteeing a secure and stable future for the region.
