Tel Aviv, Israel – Brigadier General Zvika Haimovich, the former commander of the Israeli air defense system, issued strong warnings about the growing Iranian military capabilities, stressing that Tehran has significantly strengthened its missile system, making residential areas in Israel a possible target in the event of a full-scale confrontation.
A race against time and preparation for the worst
In remarks addressing the current security situation, Haimovich explained that Israel is engaged in a state of “constant competition” with Iran, noting that this silent but escalating confrontation has intensified in recent months. He emphasized that the Israeli military establishment was not passively waiting, but rather had intensified its preparations over the past eight months to confront all possible scenarios, considering the escalation of tensions to a point of confrontation to be inevitable and “only a matter of time.”
Preparations are underway, awaiting “American cover.”
In a related development, the former military official revealed that the Israeli army is now on high alert, noting that the leadership in Tel Aviv is monitoring and awaiting political and military action from the United States to bolster its defensive and offensive capabilities in the region. These statements come at a time of unprecedented regional turmoil, amid international fears that regional skirmishes could escalate into open conflict, presenting Israel’s defense systems with the most difficult test in their history.
