Kabul, Afghanistan – Local sources and media reports indicate that Mawlawi Noman, who served as an aide to Abdul Haq Wasiq, the Taliban’s chief of general intelligence, was killed in an incident at his home in the Afghan capital, Kabul.

Details of the incident

The incident occurred on Saturday evening, December 27, 2025, in the Bat Khak area of ​​Kabul. According to initial reports, Mawlawi Nauman was killed in his home.

Informed sources indicate that the death resulted from a gas cylinder explosion inside the house, which killed him instantly, according to TOLOnews Plus.

To this point, no official statement has been issued by the Taliban government spokespeople or the intelligence directorate to confirm or deny the details of the incident, and no opposition group has claimed responsibility for the operation if criminal suspicion is proven.

Context: Mawlawi Nauman is considered one of the figures close to the movement’s intelligence leadership, and his departure comes at a time when the capital is witnessing strict security measures.
