Moscow, Russia – The Russian Ministry of Defense announced today that its armed forces have liberated the towns of Vysukuye in the Sumy region and Svetloye in the Donetsk region. This comes as part of ongoing military operations on several fronts.
The ministry stated in an official statement that Russian units carried out coordinated offensive operations that resulted in the complete capture of the two towns after direct clashes with Ukrainian forces. It indicated that the other side suffered significant human and material losses, in addition to the destruction of fortifications and military positions.
The statement added that Russian forces had reinforced their positions in the liberated areas and continued their advance to improve the situation on the ground, confirming that operations were proceeding according to plan. This was supported by artillery and air power.
The Russian Defense Ministry emphasized that military operations will continue in the coming period. The focus will be on targeting Ukrainian military infrastructure and command centers.
